Duffle Bag draws inspiration from Hedi Slimane’s Travel Bag, which was made by hand in black leather at Saint Laurent’s atelier in Paris back in April 2012 for Slimane’s personal use during his trips back and forth between Los Angeles and Paris. The design of the original Duffle is a minimalistic adaptation focused on pure functionality and classicism and was conceived to be suited for any occasion.
Slimane created a second bag for Pierre Berge and a third one for actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who requested the classic everyday bag by Yves Saint Laurent. Finally the French stylist decided to focus on a classic Saint Laurent bag both for men and women. Duffle was unveiled together with Slimane’s inaugural collection.
The goal was to create a bag that’s suitable to any occasion, for both men and women. It comes in three different sizes for women and two different sizes for men. It’s available in different colors (black, earth, red bordeaux, blue and many more) and comes in leather/suede. You can wear it both in your hands or over your shoulder.
The style is classically clean so won’t outdate and it’s part of Slimane’s first ever collection for Saint Laurent, so it will always hold credence and therefore value.
This supple duffel bag is an elegant example of Saint Laurent’s sophisticated new aesthetic. Hedi Slimane’s meticulous attention to detail is evident from the luxe hardware right down to the soft suede interior. Carry this clean-lined design to punctuate monochrome looks.
Note the cleverly-concealed front pocket when storing your small essentials.
Saint Laurent Duffle bag is made in Italy.
